Newbridge House & Farm together with the Cobbe family are delighted to announce the news of grant funding from the Heritage Council. The award is made through the Heritage Council’s Stewardship Grant which provides important funding for heritage projects by public sector bodies.
The project being funded provides for the conservation work of genealogical documents housed in Newbridge House. This group of documents includes Cobbe family history, genealogical research by members of the family and pedigrees charting the history of the Cobbe family back centuries. The documents are fascinating, in some cases charting the family history back to the 14th century, while others explore continuous lines of cousins, with one document stretching to 3.9metres long! Conserving these rare documents is an important step in facilitating their further research and securing preservation of the treasures housed in the collection of Newbridge House.
For more news on this project keep an eye on our social channels in the coming months as we will share updates and progress of the work.
Funded by the Heritage Council. Fingal County Council
